10 Reasons why you should eat Eggplant Eggplant belongs to a family of vegetables which also include potatoes and tomatoes. They are bitter in taste and spongy in texture. Eggplants contain a plenty of vitamins and minerals which make it full of nutrition and health. There are different varieties of eggplant available in the Indian market. The vegetable is available throughout the year. HEALTH BENEFITS OF EGGPLANT Food for Brain Eggplant skin contains an important phytonutrient known as Nasunin which is a powerful antioxidant and destroys free radicals. Nasunin protects the cell membranes and lipids present in human brain. Healthy Heart Eggplant contains a lot of other terpene phytonutrients which helps to control the cholesterol in blood and arteries. Nasunin and other nutrients present in the eggplant relax the blood vessels and improve the flow of blood.
