first off, ive never been a fan of boxed/dry mix foods, so buying from this company is a huge thing for me. when i cooked this, with the 5 oz water, it was very thin so i let it sit for a couple min after the first 2 min, Then did the other 2.5 min, and then did the letting it sit again to thicken it up. I added 2 cups steamed cali veg mix to it, and ate only half of the meal. So for me, this makes 2 meals. I def recommend adding something healthy like vegetables to this.

The taste is great. But, it makes a mess in the microwave and on the glass cooking bowl. The first time I used a 2 cup Corelle bowl thinking it should be plenty big for the packet and 8 ounces of water. I had a huge mess . Next time I used an 8 cup glass mixing bowl. It still bubbled to the top and made a mess on the rim of the bowl. Best to use the stove and a small pot.

I am so glad I found this item. Perfect portion size and very filling. I love the savory flavor of the dish. I eat it every day for lunch at work. So easy to pop in the microwave and have hot delicious meal with a good portion of the protein I need.
